So far, on a night where I expected the hitters to shine, Hagadone and Clay have a combined 7.1, 5H (all singles), 0ER, 1BB, 5K, 10/7 G/F

Place with a homerun and there was apparently no question about it off the bat. I'm taking all the credit for it.

FedEx with another hit. His career CAR #'s are now .750 / .750 / 1.000 / 1.750. Don't let the The 0.000 IsoD fool you.
ADD: Lin with an error and an outfield assist. Way to atone but, most of his 6 errors have come in the last 10 days or so. Edit: league correction. oops...

Westy is easily the lamest nickname for a Sox minor leaguer.

When do we start talking about the fact that Derrik Gibson is #2 in the NYPL in OPS?

Was Wilder's character from Waco, Rhode Island ?
Dobies, Large, Cox, threw shutout innings for Portland tonight. Other prospects with goose eggs: Garrison, Miller, Papelbon (the other one), Hagadone, Clay, Herold & Batista. AB's got a nightmare decision to make. Edit: Spelling correction per AB. There's something distracting there.

For the record, FR9 is just as involved.
And lcbf, you know I hold off for a long time before correcting you on stuff like this, but it's Dobies with one "B".

Went to the SeaDogs game tonight with some family and friends, so I didn't get a whole lot of time to really "scout." Here's what did catch
my eye though.
Reddick- His swing really impressed me; it was very fluid and seemed very natural. Also had a slight uppercut to it - this may have been due to a lot of pitches he got up in the zone tonight, but it happened to have a slight uppercut to it. Lars- Rough night at the plate and you could really see it in his body language. Made a few good plays in the field as well to try and prove some of the "stiff and unathletic" believers. Still- HR was a bomb that cleared the right-center wall, but otherwise looked pretty overmatched by the NH pitchers. Defense- Diaz made some stunning plays at short, making some extremely difficult plays look routine. If only his bat could catch up to his glove, he'd be a star in the making. Jimenez looked decent as well, although he tried to make a spinning throw that ended up in the NH dugout. Otherwise though he seemed pretty comfortable. Injuries- Lawson got hit off what seemed to be the forearm in the 2nd inning. After the trainers came out to take a look at him, he finished off the inning, but didn't come back out for the third. Also, Wagner was hit in the leg by a foul ball while in the on-deck circle. He also came out for his next AB but Apodca replaced him before his next AB. Large- Watch out. NH didn't have an answer for him, as he made just about every batter he faced look completely overmatched. Would love to have seen how fast he was throwing, but there was no stadium gun tonight. He should have been in Pawtucket a long time ago. |

Almanzar batting .111 so far in the NYPL. IMO, well past time to completely rework and simplify his mechanics. Should have been done over the offseason (or the
one prior to that, foot in the bucket swings are too easily exploitable).
Engle's HR was a 9th inning game tying pinch hit in a 5-4 12 inning win. Gibson, like 'The General' (2 cents just wrung up), has been consistant everyday, his OPS isn't the product of a big game.
