I'll bet my bottle of geritol that when Lowrie returns it is Green rather than Lugo who is sent packing. Like it or not.

I wasn't able to see the game tonight, I was wondering if the Sox fans gave Hanley a warm reception during his first at bat?

I was watching for that, I was relatively surprised but, the reception was minimal. The average major league fan doesn't know jack about the minors and who
played for the Sox. Like it or not, we're an island of minor league geeks.

"Here's hoping for 3 humiliating Marlins losses that infuriate a certain Marlins superstar (not-to-be-named) who immediately demands a trade to a
certain "hometown" team with which he started his pro career, who is also 1-of-1 teams listed on a previously unreported no-trade list, and who
becomes a member of said team by the weekend due to that teams pitching surplus from which they can deal.
< // end dream >" Makes you wonder what an unhappy AAA camper, an all expenses paid unhappy former starting SS and a shiny penny's worth of prospects would net.

BHB2, like you I missed the reception from the fans for Hanley as I got home late from work. Most doesn't remember Hanley was former RS prospect &
batted only twice for the RS. I still remember it was quick strike 1-2-3 and out for him. He's same situation as Kelly Stoppach (15 AB) as both were not
given chance to get more bat as they left the organization as zero career hit for the RS.

I think its an overstatement to say that average fans don't remember Hanley well. They may not have been as excited about him or aware of his talent at the
time, but the mainstream media cannot get enough of talking about the trade that sent him to the Marlins. How many times has it been discussed that this is
"such a rare trade" where both sides got exactly what they were hoping for? I just don't think people actually followed him like those on this
site did back then, so its not like a former, beloved player returning.

I find it interesting that, now that Jacoby has been judged to be doing well enough offensively to be moved back to the top of the lineup, that he continues to
bat second, with Pedroia leadoff. In the larger picture it may have to do with spacing the LHH, though that's not of much importance tonight with the LH
Miller going and the lineup weighted towards RHH. Pedroia has been slumping somewhat since being moved to leadoff. I'd think if Ellsbury is back at the top
of the order, he ought to be leadoff with Pedroia moved back to his old 2nd spot.

Any lineup in the month of June without Drew in it sucks.

Tito is really bad at putting lineups together. Really bad.
On the other hand if your tools suck and your skills are excellent you're either not highly regarded or you're Pedroia.

I just get the strangest feeling that Tito isn't the only person who decides on the line-up.

Andrew Miller is one of the ugliest pitchers to watch in baseball. I hate watching these changeup-slider lefties. Kazmir, Liriano, yuck... the whole lot of
them.

SouthernBoSox's avatar is a nice segue to mentioning my dismay that Pedro is in negotiations with the Rays. Not only would be sharing a bench with Zimmer,
but he'd also be going to a team who he shared a deep mutual hatred with for a long time. Good thing there aren't any Rays fans from before 10 months
ago.
