Nate Simon Pepperdine OFer hit 3 HR this weekend including a 10th inning walk off. Fighting injuries for this last season Simon hasn't been on the radar,
but now seems to be getting it together.

Anyone have a good site with some in-depth college stats? collegesplits.com hasn't started yet this year and it isn't as in-depth as I thought it was
anyway.

I saw that new MLB mock draft had the Red Sox taking this guy from ASU called Mike Leake. I went to their website to see how he had done and when I saw on
their schedule that ASU played Missouri I was intrigued. I clicked on the box score for the first game which was played last night and when I scrolled down to
see the pitchers who pitched and I was fascinated when I saw who pitched for Missouri. The Missouri coach had 8 pitchers pitch one inning each. I have never
seen that before, and it didnt work they lost 3-1. I have heard of ideas similar to this, but I have never seen them be put into use. Here is the box score if

jcn, it was an early-season, non-conference game. College baseball teams do that sometimes in midweek non-conference contests so that they have the entire
staff available on the weekend, when they play their conference games. It's not really that big of a deal.
Also, that mock drafts exist at this point of the year is kind of a joke. EDIT: Just checked Missou's schedule. They had four games in three days between the 20th and 22nd, had a day off, played last night, have today off, then play four games in four days beginning tomorrow. They were DEFINITELY just trying to keep their staff fresh between clusters of games.

You're missing the point. Missouri threw Johnny Wholestaff because of their busy schedule. Throwing a pitcher an inning against ASU assures them
they'll have each one of those guys fresh for the upcoming stretch.

I guess you could call it that.
There are basically two schools of thought regarding midweek games (which are your non-conference ones): 1) You have your "midweek starters", who are typically freshmen or sophomores that aren't quite ready for the conference rotation but you don't want to pitch out of the bullpen. 2) You pitch a bullpen game, treating it almost like how Major League teams pitch early Spring Training games. This is typically what you will see teams with less depth do. My alma mater will basically be relying on seven pitchers this year, and our conference plays four-game weekends. You can bet they'll be doing a lot of this during the week once the conference season starts.
