I think LSU will take it all this year. Their weekend lineup is amazing. I dont understand why Baseball America has Texas A&M at #1. Arizona State lost to
much from last year and didnt get the recruiting class they thought they were getting cause a lot of guys they signed turned pro, but that was expected. UM
will need its transfers and young guys to step up after losing its first baseman, second baseman and closer to the first round of the draft. In addition they
also lost their third baseman, CF, and RF to the draft. Kyle Bellamy may need to go from the setup role to the closer role for them. It will be interesting to
see how the Auggie Garrido situation plays out at Texas after he got a DUI. The team I like in the SEC is Ole Miss, They lost in the regional final to top seed
and host of the regional final UM. However, They return almost everyone, have some really nice bats, and ace pitcher Scott Bittle. Im pumped for College
Baseball. EDIT: Grammar

As long as they continue to us metal bats, it's hard to evaluate their real skills. Even for a pitcher, who makes a hitter hit one off the handle, that
can even result in a HR.

I have enjoyed checking out a bunch of games via gametracker and looking at some box scores.
RHP Alex White gave up some runs today but UNC ran away from VMI. If UNC's starting pitching stays healthy, I think they will be back in Omaha for the fourth year in a row. I also agree with the comment above about Ole Miss. They have a very experienced team and their bullpen is going to be tremendous with Bittle back to close. They beat Liberty 6-5 with Bittle picking up his first save. I think they have a chance to finally get over the Regional hump and get to Omaha as well. |

Baseball America is annoying. They had UCLA at #1 last year for basically no reason.
Some notes on some FSU players, D'Vontrey Richardson is back playing baseball and Kyle Long withdrew from the university and is going to try to play football at the U of Virginia. Apparently he spent a little too much time getting hammered and hammering ladies and not enough time doing, you know, schoolwork. |

jcn, this is a tournament that MLB is sponsoring between two historically black colleges and two top D-I schools for Black History Month, so I'm not sure
this means the MLB Network will be showing many college games.

Last years Red Sox Draftee Alex Meyer saw his first action of the year today in the first game of a double header against James Madison. He pitched 3 innings
of relief, gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 BB and 1 SO . Alex Meyer gave up the only runs Kentucky allowed in the game. EDIT: relief

Yea, ESPN showed a double header last year involving USC and some other schools, that was pretty much the only college baseball they showed until the
regionals.

I was at the UM game last night against Rutgers. Chris Hernandez started off a bit shaky walking and hitting a batter in each of the first two innings however
he really settled down after that and pitched pretty well. Ryan Jackson made a few really nice plays in the field, there was one play in particular where he
got hand-cuffed on a short hop but still was able to make the throw on the run and nail the runner at 1st base. The highlight of the night however was
definitely former Sox-draftee, Yasmani Grandal, he came up to the plate in the bottom of the 8th with a 4-1 lead and Ryan Jackson on second and he absolutely
blasted a ball deep into the night. The dimensions of the field are 330 to left, 330 to right and 400 to center. Grandal's shot was to Left Center and not
only made it out on a night where the wind was blowing in from center field but he completely cleared the giant scoreboard set behind the left field wall. It
was one of the more impressive home runs I've seen and I'll go as far as to say it could have had a shot to be a Landsdowne home-run in Fenway.
