It appears pitcher Felix Rodriguez signed a Minor League contract with no invite to Major League camp back on the 9th of this month according to a release
posted by his former team, the Camden Riversharks

I believe that Felix Rodriguez has only recieved an invitation to minor league spring training, as opposed to signing a minor league deal. I'll work on
confirming that.

The Boston Red Sox [team stats] have optioned right-hander Clay Buchholz to Triple-A Pawtucket and placed five players on the 15-day disabled list. Right-hander John Smoltz (right shoulder surgery), outfielder Mark Kotsay (right elbow), shortstop Julio Lugo [stats] (right knee surgery), outfielder Jonathan Van Every (right ankle sprain) and right-hander Miguel Gonzalez (right elbow surgery) all went on the DL on Saturday retroactive to March 27. Boston must make at least one more move by Sunday to get down to the 25-man active limit. |

Per the MLB transactions page and reported many other places.
Placed SS Jed Lowrie on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 12, with a left wrist sprain. Recalled INF Gil Velazquez from Triple-A Pawtucket. |
