Here are a bunch of shots from today's game. I had to leave before the end (had to go coach a flag football game in the same complex) but it was a very thrilling game. Almanzar looked awesome offensively, and also looked very good defensively. I spent a lot of time on the 3rd base side of the diamond just to watch his fielding. When he was picked off, I don't know what he was thinking.. he just kind of took off before the pitcher even began his move, from what I saw.. it was very ugly looking, but it was about the only bad thing he did all day. Tyler Yockey also looked great today. Wang Li-Yin pitched solidly through 4 innings. I noticed is that Pete Gilardo takes his work as a catcher almost far too seriously and lets it impede the next AB he's catching. He allowed a few passed balls and looked very shaken by it. Di Benedetto got hit in the head with a pitch but was okay.. apparently he crowds the plate quite a bit and the pitchers don't like it. Pedro Perez didn't have a good 9th, the blown save he had was pretty ugly, but he still picked up the win. In other news, Swen Huijer is freaking huge, jesus f'ing christ! It's almost scary how big he is, hard to believe Randy Johnson is taller than he is.
