I noticed that Lin is from Hualien on the mountainous Pacific Coast, but that he actually went to school in Tainan, the same school attended by the Yankees' Wang. We were there for Chinese New Year by the way, spending over a week as guests of a very gracious family in Zuoying. They went to different high schools, Chien Ming Wang was born in Tainan but played High school ball in Taipei, Lin played for Nan Yin which was in Tainan. Dodgers lefty Hung Chih Kuo and IF Chin Lung Hu were also graduated from Nan Yin, their coach is a total asxxole, he's the major reason why Kuo had 2 Tommy John surgeries

It's not isolated to the Nan Yin guy, it's a culture of ignorance and douchebaggery that keeps having coaches use frakking 15 year olds for 130 pitches and then sending them out for relief the next day. Part of it comes from the Koshien "We're seperating the men from boys" mentality, but most of it is actually just the coach covering his own ass because if the team doesn't play well his job is on the line.
