Rumors have it that Trevor Ariza may leave the Lakers. Would be a big loss.

Not really.
I'm pissed about the Ben Gordon and Charlie V signings. I hate the fact that I now can't completely hate the Pistons. Argh.
On the other hand if your tools suck and your skills are excellent you're either not highly regarded or you're Pedroia.

If the C's get Sheed they would be the prohibited favorites. Sheed is the only big man that can guard Dwight and Shaq one-on-one plus he can play behind
the 3 point line where Dwight has trouble guarding big men. If the C's get him my top 4 in the NBA are:
1) Celtics 2) Lakers 3) San Antonio 4) Cavs I don't like Orlando after they replaced Turk with Vince. Turk is a much better decisionmaker and playmaker than Vince, they'll miss him. The Cavs will go through a transition period because I think they'll have trouble with "when to run and when to slow it down" like Phoniex last year. Plus they couldn't guard big and athletic teams, Shaq doesn't change that.

I hate Vince, but he's at least five times the player Turkolu is. They're a better team with him (although still not contenders with their current
defensive inability).
On the other hand if your tools suck and your skills are excellent you're either not highly regarded or you're Pedroia.

Watch their games. They're a team that relies almost exclusively on their athleticism on the defensive end of the court, and against the superior teams in
the league (Lakers, Celts with a healthy KG) they really struggle to get stops.
In any event, any team that starts JJ Redick doesn't have a prayer at winning an NBA championship.

Artest going to the Lakers. This move isnt as great as it seems. Artest is no longer a defensive stopper but is a better scorer than Ariza.

They replace Ariza with Artest, nice move by the Lakers they are the favorites in the west.

In regards to the Magic defense, it took a pretty big hit by replacing HT with VC. |

The only person who doesn't think that Artest is an upgrade over Ariza is Bill Plascke. I feel safe that I am right.

This signing is exactly what the C's need. Garnett, Perkins, Wallace...3 imitidators in the middle to push around the likes of Howard, Shaq, and Gasol.
