This is just a note to let everybody know that the moderators and I want to discourage the use of polls in the future unless a topic absolutely requires it. Most poll topics lately have been fine, but didn't absolutely need to be posted as polls. The reason polls are discouraged is because every time a poll is voted upon, it is pushed to the top of the discussion board, and consequently they just never seem to go away and tend to crowd the most recent discussion. Unfortunately there is no way to change this feature on EZBoard. EZBoard stopped trying to improve these boards in general and just doesn't respond when I asked them to fix things like this.
So, basically I am requesting that if you are considering introducing a new topic, please think about whether it is absolutely necessary to design it as a poll. From here on out, polls will be given a short leash and life span, and may be moved to a new Poll sub forum which I will set up today. Feel free to post polls to your heart's content there.
However, if you simply want to start a new discussion, consider just making it a normal topic - the moderators and I will be liberal in allowing such threads to stay on the main board. As always, just please try to keep the topic relevant and the content intelligible.
This thread will be moved to the Welcome New Members/ Ground Rules section after everybody has had a chance to read it.
