I had been a lurker for over a year now and have developed a strong interest in the Red Sox minor league system--almost as strong as the major league team. I remember when the Sox had an affiliate in New Britain, and since their departure, really lost touch with Sox minor leaguers until coming across this board and SosH. Looking forward to contributing and thank you to the powers-that-be for letting me join the community. Mike

You probably already know this, but you can see the Sox affiliates when they visit Richmond (AAA), Bowie (AA), Potomac and Frederick (A+), Delmarva (A), and Aberdeen (SSA), so it's not a bad place to be for a Sox Prospects fan. I grew up in the DC area and loved watching the Lynchburg Red Sox back in the day, with Plantier and Naehring and Blosser and Sele.

I read a bit about your thoughts on Lancaster, but as someone in LA (Van Nuys area) I'm looking forward to some trips to the desert to see the A ball youngsters. I hope to catch up with any other SoCal people, even if it is only for the next 2 seasons.

I am a major minor league fan (sounds like an oxymoron, but oh well), and love chatting about prospects, especially those of the Yanks (obsession: Hughes and Clippard), Mets (favorite: Humber), and Red Sox (personal crush: Buchholz and Ellsbury)...and did I mention, I really like pitchers? I was told that this was the best Red Sox forum when talking about prospects, so I decided to join. Truthfully, I'm a Yankee fan, but don't kill me for it. The fact that I love the minor leagues is true, and joined with good intentions.

Ironically, I never stumbled upon this board until it was referenced constantly by someone I know in 'real life', Tex31. I'm a huge fan of the minor league games as well...the reason I'm a Sox fan is my Yankee fan grandfather used to bring me to Bristol/New Britian to see the Sox play. But not for the minor league teams. So I became a frequent reader of this site. You won't see many posts from me, due to the lacking chance of seeing the minor league teams and our prospects. And you shouldn't judge prospects if you don't see them play on a regular basis. Thanks to all you I have the chance to know a little bit of the prospects coming up in our farm system. Oh, please apologize my bad English.
