Pawtucket will play 143 games due to cancellations)
Portland (70-61) - 2 games up on Binghamton (70-65) for 2nd in EL Northern (Magic number is 7, 9 games remaining) (note: Portland will play only 140 games due to cancellations) Lancaster (36-24 2nd half, 74-58 overall) - Clinched berth and 1st round bye after winning CAL South in 1st Half. Also clinched overall best record in CAL South, clinching home field in Division Championship round. Lowell (35-26) - 8.5 games up on Oneonta (26-34) in Stedler Div. Pawsox.com lists Pauley as the starter in one place and Hansack as the starter in another. Obviously Pauley is with Boston (at least he was yesterday), and
Hansack is on the DL. A roster move would have to take place if either were to rejoin Pawtucket today.

Please do me a favor: Don't worry about Clay Buchholz's process at Double AA and have you all scream for his MLB call up if he's doing well.
I noticed that Carson Blair (fast start) & Pete Hissey already started out @ GCL but not from RWML, Wilson, Cervenka & Stroup. What's up with them? Are they not ready for it or wait out for next season? |

When guys report after being signed, there are usually drug tests, physicals, and the like that need to happen first. In addition, I'm sure there could be
little nagging injuries the team wants to take care of, or the player could be working on something on the side with the coaching staff before entering game
action.
To specifically answer your question, we don't know what exactly the deal is, but this kind of thing is par for the course.

Has anyone seen Strickland pitch? He's done fairly well as a whole this season and has been even better as of late. He's now put together a run of 7
strait solid outings. He is a perfect example of a guy that can be quickly over looked in a system as deep as the Red Sox. He received a six figure bonus which
leads me to believe there might be something there. Any opinions?

M. Celery, I wonder if Clay was brooding over the demotion because he was disappointed in himself rather than in the Sox for sending him down? He really sailed
through the minors relatively easily, so I suspect it's a shock to be kicked in the teeth like that at the last level. It's easy to say "No sweat,
it happens to a lot of players" ..... until it happens to you.
