We could pick him up just to be a bat boy or something; he would immediately double our clubhouse chemistry and pass out free HGH. No, but tough times for Lo Duca these days. His OBP is waaaay down at .301. Sadly, that's 20 points higher than his SLG. The guy only his 23 home runs in three full and two half seasons after DePo dumped him. Lo Duca's one day younger than Varitek (who has been, of course, a much better player). I wonder if we'll give Tek another 4 years. "I just really enjoy reading, man. Veteran Member Posts: 111 08/04/08 12:03 PM	Does anyone know why Chris Iannetta is not starting in Colorado. He has done much better than Yorvit Torrealba this season. Plus, he's a local guy in the majors, which doesn't happen often in New England.

He's typically been getting 3 starts in a row, then a day off, then 3 more starts, etc. with offdays and day games after night games off sprinkled in between. All you have to do is check a game log or season log to see that he's getting the lionshare of playing time between the plate. There is no such thing as a catcher that plays everyday anymore.

Managing to a statistic = bad. "And, you know, has it ever occurred to you, that, instead of, uh... this could be a lot more, uh, complex, I mean, it's not just, it might not be just such a simple... uh, you know?"

Considering injury risk, it's a nice haul for Haren to lock down the guaranteed money now. IOW, before the deal he had $5.75 million guaranteed through 2009. Now he has $48.25 million guaranteed through 2012, and if he stays healthy he'll still be young enough for at least one more big payday. "I just really enjoy reading, man.
