Er, gentlemen -- I've been talking Charlie Zink up all year. I'm just as enthusiastic about his performance as you are, and glad to see for him that he
has seemed to find himself. But given all that, reports are that his knuckleball does not move in the same unpredictable way that Wake's does. Now Wake has
parlayed his pitch into a very distinguished major league career. He has been a solid, good but not great starter for many years, versatile and either able to
pitch often or able to pitch many innings, both valuable commodities. Whether Zink can become even a pale imitation of Wake is open to legitimate question. But
I didn't say he shouldn't have a chance -- in fact, I've sort of been halfway lobbying for him to get a spot start for the Sox sometime this year
if a situation opened up. There is a difference between honest uncertainty about what a player can bring to the table and throwing a player into the trash.

I'm gonna back up ASF here. If there's anyone you shouldn't be getting on for not giving Zink a shot, it's ASF. He's been his biggest
advocate around here.

My bad, i guess I just took your comments out of context. I'm new to this site so I never saw any of your previous comments about Zink. I just like Zink
as a player and have a lot of confidence in him.

But you know something, Temple, it really seems that I need to re-examine how I discuss things. As you and a lot of other people know, this is far from the
first time that people have taken different meanings from what I say than what I intend. I may think I'm being clear and that other people are simply
missing the meaning somehow. But this is a situation where perception is reality. It's like the old saying "if you can't get along with persons A,
B, C, D, and E, maybe it isn't A, B, C, D, and E that have the problem. Maybe it's you that has the problem." Well, if persons A and B draw a
different conclusion than I intend from post X, and C and D draw a different conclusion than I intend from post Y, and E and F draw a different conclusion than
I intend from post Z, and so on, it probably isn't the case that I'm being clear and all those people are misinterpreting things.

I don't know, ASF. I understood what you were saying there.
How apropos, that on the day Schilling's career may be over, Ryan Pressly, the man so many have compared to
Schilling throughout his amateur career, will take the field wearing the #38. -Temple

I didn't mean to start this whole conversation, I just wanted to make my point about Zink. I apologize for taking the comments out of proportion and I
realize ASF was right, now that have I read over his comments again.
