I hope Drew is ok. He's limping pretty good in the dugout.

Hansen, Timlin or Lopez to come in to close it out?

Will there be a Moss sighting in right field?

Let's score 12, and bring in Timlin. Brandon Moss started 3 consecutive games on July 8/9/11, going a collective 4-12. He had a late AB July 12 as a
replacement for Manny in the laugher, and got another hit. He has not seen an AB since that time, getting in as a PR for Manny on Monday. Now I don't
usually question Francona, but something really seems amiss here. Did he abuse a clubhouse employee or something? ..... oh wait, that doesn't matter .....
maybe someone caught him tearing the "not to be removed" tag off a hotel mattress.

Lowrie has had more good at bats this week than Lugo has had this season.

Here comes the tying run to the plate. It's just never easy with this team.

Hansen when we are behind is one of the greatest pitchers ever.
Hansen with a lead is one of the worst pitchers ever. But we somehow hung on. |

I think he threw 4 pitches in the strikezone that inning.
Make that 8 of 22 pitches thrown in the strikezone.

and really the difference in the game was the fresh arm of Masterson because without those extra innings from him, Timlin and Lopez would have entered the game
at some point. Essentially, the other pitchers only went 9 innings, which is huge.

Fine, so the road trip had two sweeps. The only long road trip left is an East Coast trip. I know a lot of you think that these guys can sleep through the off
day and it's like the trip never existed, but really, I think part of the reason for our crummy road record is CTF -- cumulative travel fatigue. It has
been a REALLY taxing season that way thus far. But now the worst is over -- until we have to travel to meet the Angels in the playoffs. And flap, you're
right about the Masterson effect -- In a way, I'm surprised they didn't leave him in longer. He really hasn't gone through a transition to the pen
yet, to speak of. They almost could have treated him as a tandem starter, since he was dealing.

Masterson looked great tonight. Hansen is still a little shaky. I would like to see Moss play every once in a while. Paps needs to mix it up a little more.

Hansen has no business on a major league mound. He pitches not to lose every time the game gets close. There is no way we can go into the playoffs with him on
our roster, no f'n way.

Hansen is now the 6th inning guy, and a better reliever than most teams 10th best pitcher. In the playoffs, a guy like him doesn't get to throw too many
pitches because of the offdays, the way you don't mind abusing a few arms, and the extra starter, so I'm not worried about it.
