"Your family gets involved like that and you're trying to enjoy an experience with your family, and you have a wife who's pregnant who doesn't feel safe riding in a red-carpet event, you know what I mean? How would you feel?" Papelbon said, according to MLB.com. The crowd of 55,632 chanted "Overrated" with Papelbon on the mound, and sounded almost pleased when he allowed Adrian Gonzalez's go-ahead sacrifice fly. It's all in the article, I guess Yankee fans feel like bashing Papelbon is more important than homefield advantage. |

Well since its more likely to be the red sox' home field advantage then the Yankees' then it makes sense to bash him. The again, these are Yankee fans
we're talking about the concept of home field advantage might be a little too much for them to grasp.

I still say clenching our 3rd sweep of a World Series this time at Fenway would've been nicer.

Cardenas is a great get. I'd take him over any of the prospects they got for Rich Harden. Pat Gillick is retiring at the end of the season, what does he
care?

The A's did pretty good here, much better than what they got for Harden. Cardenas is pretty good middle infielder with pop and athleticism for 2B, where
the Phillies are set for years. They also got LHP Josh Outman and OF Matt Spencer.
Boston doesn't deserve me.

The A's getting Cardenas in the Blanton deal makes them reaching for Jemile Weeks with the 12th overall pick look even worse. |

That is the last real link to the 2002 "moneyball" draft, unless you still consider Brant Colamarino a prospect....

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3494330 Francisco Liriano is asking the players union to look into the reason why the Twins are keeping him in the minors. He believes it is because the Twins are trying to keep his service time down and delay his eligibility for arbitration. |

deserved pay day.
Fantasy players everywhere also have a good class action suit on their hands as well.

I suspect that the Twins are trying to get someone to take Livan "El Guapo Dos" Hernandez off their hands by July 31 before they bring up Liriano. There has also been some talk about them possibly putting Liriano in the bullpen which has an interesting twist with Nathan being a free agent this off season.

Cardenas is pretty good middle infielder with pop and athleticism for 2B, where the Phillies are set for years.Cardenas was moved from SS to 2B due to a lack of range and some folks feel he's not much better defensively there either; could be he ends up in the OF. I still like him.
