I'm surprised that we haven't gotten reports from any of the games in NB over the last few days. I'll be attending today and tomorrow's games. Still really pissed about Bowden not pitching on Monday. Who can I expect that day, Gassner on 4 days rest or a bullpen game? I'm hoping to see Bard and Lentz.

Don't forget about the Futures Game on ESPN2 at 12:30 pm today.

Sox rained out in Sarasota, game is moved to Fort Myers and will begin at 12:00.

Damn, I was really hoping to see them today in Sarasota.

Britton/Strickland pitched last night for Lowell -- Kyle Weiland makes his first start for the Spinners tonight. He has been coming out of the bullpen so far this season.

I love how the last two times Gammons has talked about Bowden on national TV he has pointed out he is the best pitcher in Double-A.

I love how the last two times Gammons has talked about Bowden on national TV he has pointed out he is the best pitcher in Double-A.

I love Gammons and Bowden, but I would have to say that Chris Tillman is the better pitcher.

To be fair, he didn't say prospect, he said pitcher, which Bowden has obviously been. If he were to say prospect I still take Kershaw over Tillman.

The Orioles minor league teams (and GCL team) plays in Sarasota. They only have Major League camp in Ft. Lauderdale.

I don't know about the first time, but today during the Futures Game, Gammons said he was the best pitcher in the Eastern League, not Double-A.

Gammons has been hawking Bowden recently.

He said this on June 16th:

You look and you still have Buchholz back at Triple-A Pawtucket, and he has great stuff. He can go back and learn at Pawtucket rather than go through what guys like Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy and Joba Chamberlain have had to do in New York. There are those who think that Michael Bowden, who is at Double-A right now, is the best of that whole group.
