Since they are at Portland, they likely will be calling pitches. Generally,I've decided this isn't worth doing if they don't call pitches, I don't think any of us get much out of it if they don't. They weren't calling pitches at yesterday's Lowell game ( no gun in Vermont I assume).

My opinion: Bowden didn't have his usual fastball command again when he wasn't winding up. Unlike the last 2 games he didn't go to a lot of changes and curves to compensate, for the most part he kept throwing fastballs. That doesn't surprise me though last year when he was working on hs changeup he threw change after change after change even though it sucked.That's something that impresses me about Bowden.

This is maybe the fifth time I've heard Bard since his promotion and tonight was probably the most impressive. Nice mix. I'm assuming the big MPH change in his fastball is the 4 seamer or 2 seamer. I heard both games that he gave up runs and both times he was throwing mostly fastballs and he was generally high, all the called balls were "high".

Nice outing until his 3rd inning for James. Unfortunately the announcers weren't calling many pitches.
