I'm speculating here, but as I mentioned in another thread, I believe Bailey to Boston will be another one.

Juan Apodaca to Greenville is another one, confirmed.

He seems to be progressing as a top catching prospect in the organization despite missing most of last year developmentally. Was there ever a definitive word
as to why he was sent home?

Does this spell the end of the Jon Still as catcher experiment? |

Here what I think the Lancaster roster changes will be with Exposito moving up.
Exposito to catcher Jon Still as the DH Chiang moves to 2b prolly sharing time with Reza With Jimenez gone this should put them at the roster limit. |

Not really. It may spell the end of Charlie Blackmon though. Still has been really the only catcher in the system who was starting there every day - I could
see them going back to a platoon with him and Expo, with Still getting starts at 1B and DH as well.
For what it's worth, Still's defense is reportedly improving. EDIT: FWIW, there really isn't a "DH" in Lancaster right now. Chiang is getting the most starts there, but we're talking half the week. I doubt they'll move Still back to being a full-time DH at this level. Last year, I could see the staff working on his defense before games, then having him just hit during the games, but at this point he needs to be in the field every day.

Derrick Loop should also get activated in Lancaster tommorow, which could lead to another set of roster moves, or possibly somebody from Lancaster going on the
DL or the phantom DL.

Arquimedez Bozo wrote: Still did not do well at first base. Looked lost that's why Jimenez played at first during Lars Anderson DL time. Jimenez did a outstanding job during
that time that even surprised Chad Eperson. For a DH, Jon needs to put up much better numbers. For a prospect at this time, I would have to drop him way down.
Hopefully the second half will be his to own.

Richly deserved!! He has worked hard and his effort is being rewarded. I do believe our catching is becoming (much) less of a concern in the organization.
I hate seeing him leave, but he is 21 and needs to be pushed.

IIRC, Epperson is a former catcher. That should be extremely helpful in Expo's fine tuning his catching skills.

However when you evaluate a prospect you have to take more than what he does on the field into account. If he has questionable make-up that is an issue. Elijah Dukes and the first incarnation of Josh Hamilton being examples. I am not trying to insinuate whatever mistakes he may have made in the past are on any level close to those examples, and a young individual who has made mistakes and has grown from them is a stronger individual. This being a site that primarily discusses prospects, if it has been reported it should be open for discussion. |

point it's better to move forward. If any other issues arrive we'll surely hear about them in a New York minute. Until that happens, all that wondering
about unknowns will do is make some folks speculate based on imagination and rumor.

I really don't see much long-term and very little short-term value associated with Bailey. He can rake in AAA all he wants, I don't really think it matters at this point in his career, I'd rather keep Moss up as the backup. |

Both Moss and Bailey would be up, the Sox need an extra player in the OF with Manny still lingering, Crisp possibly serving his suspension, and Drew with a
stiff neck. Smith would probably be sent down, but I think he will be back in the bullpen when the OF situation clears up.

Luis Esposito WOW | #19 | ||
|
After seeing Luis Esposito in his Lancaster debut, all I can say is WOW. This guy has one heck of a rocket arm. He has to be one of the elite catchers in Hi A
already. His timing on hitting may take time but well worth the defense to have him out there. A true well deserved prospect ranking. I can't wait for him
to adjust in the hitting dept. Interesting to see what happens to Jon Still. Not even close.

Lancaster Rob
