15th Round Pick---
John Lally, LHP, Santa Margharita HS, Cali
PG Report
John Lally is a 2008 LHP with a 6'1'', 167 lb. frame from
Rancho Santa Margarita CA, who attends Santa Margarita Catholic HS. Athletic, rangy body type, room to fill out, quality college pitching prospect, good feel
for the baseball, three pitch mix, strike thrower, hides ball well, short backside arm stroke, pretty easy effort, competes inside to RHH, fastball is a
little sneaky, can turn over the fastball, good curveball spin, change-up has some sink, all pitches move, good pitchability.

Lally has steadily been adding strength and velocity to his pitches since the winter of 2006-07, when he was just 80-83 mph at a Perfect Game Showcase in California. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound lefthander is now throwing in the low-90s with a power curveball and a quality changeup. He has a short, quick arm action. Lally was a well-known prospect back when he was a soft-tossing, finesse southpaw because he always projected well and was able to throw three quality pitches for strikes. Now he has the same pitchability, but power stuff to go with it. Lally had a 3.02 ERA as a junior with 62 K's and 20 walks in 57 innings. Lally missed most of the spring with an arm injury, throwing only eight innings

Can someone report on which players in the top 200 (BA) are still around? I can think of a few, but I don't have a subscription.

It seems like so much of the draft has past us by but this is the round (18) that we got Lars in. I'm not sure why that strikes me strange but it does.
