Don't look now, but the 2008 DSL Red Sox season starts this Saturday, May 31, at 10:30 AM vs. CWS #2. If past seasons are any indication, don't
expect to get any box scores early on Saturday, and maybe not even until Sunday or Monday. As for the season schedule, the DSL All Star Game is July 27, the
regular season ends on August 25, and the playoffs will go until about August 30.
The DSL roster has not yet been announced, but will likely look simialr to the roster projected on the Team Roster page here. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if no roster is announced until weeks into
the season, so we'll try to piece it together for you as soon as the season starts. Basically, the roster will need to get trimmed down to 35 players, 30
of whom may be active at a time. If tradition holds true, a number of peripheral players will be cut and a number of peripheral players will be added from the
current list. However, all of the high profile players were signed and set some time ago. Also, keep in mind that players are not allowed to spend a fourth
season in the DSL, but this rule seems to be exempted on occasion, so this could cause certain players to be on the bubble for graduation to the GCL or to be
cut.
