Kevin Jones, when healthy, is an every down back. The Patriots' offense cooled down significantly after Sammy Morris went down last year because they lacked an inside runner to move the ball on the ground. While Laurence Maroney is a great homerun threat, he's not nearly as good at running inside and grinding out yards in traffic as he is bouncing to the outside and making things happen in space. Kevin Faulk is an outstanding 3rd down back and receiver but he's also not an inside runner. He can pull off the shotgun draw inside but power situations are not his forte. KJ would give the Patriots the ultimate insurance at RB. Also, his receiving ability coupled with his power-running style doesn't tip the play when he's in the game.

Also keep in mind that Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk are 31. As tough as this is to believe, Kevin Jones is only 25. He is not only a great buy-low candidate (due to the injury), but he's a good long-term fit for the team. Assuming he recovers to close to 100%, his presence also allows the Pats to use Maroney on kickoffs more if they wanted to.

Schlereth is amongst the worst that ESPN has. He brings little-to-nothing to the table as an analyst and his attitude in general is holier-than-thou. Your job isn't to preach, Stink, it's to explain the ins and outs of the game. I feel bad for his kids; I can't imagine having that duranged imbecile riding me whenever he wasn't busy blowing Elway. Mark Schlereth is the biggest reason not to draft Daniel Schlereth. If he was anyone else's kid, he instantly becomes a much more attractive player long-term if you ask me. Loudmouth parents that think they know more than they really do are a problem and I'd be more than a little worried about Daniel's psyche coming out of that household.
