So if Lugo was gonna loose the starting spot then why not keep Lowrie up? I know it's not nearly enough games but Alex Cora is coming off an injurie and
has played everygame since being back, maybe it's just me jumping at the gun here we'll see. I hope that a couple good games by Crisp doesn't mean
Jacoby is gonna be benched until Coco cools down and goes back to being a sub 700 OPS fourth OF.

I assume Cora is starting over Lugo because of Lugo's concussion and that Lugo will regain the starting spot in the near future.

Jason Varitek with his slider speed bat. Should be a nice easy drubbing tonight as I forgot to sit Guthrie
I gonna have to take a dump on Lugo... Maybe my magic translates to him. -norbit14

This does not look good.
That is an exact replica of how I tore the ligaments in my wrist. (I don't want to start any panic, as it could easily just be a strain. It's hard to tell with his glove on exactly how far back his wrist bent.) |

If by some chance this injury leads to Drew missing several days (or more), who is next in line to come up from Pawtucket? Van Every? Bailey? Carter?
As amfox pointed out in another thread, OF is very thin in the upper minors. With Moss and Kielty out, I'm not sure who is next up. Is it possible they use Lugo as the 4th OFer and bring Lowrie back up? I'm not sure that works because I don't see Manny or Lugo being able to play RF. Same problem with Carter. I'm leaning toward Van Every. Thoughts? |

Sprained left wrist: Day to day
That's the type of injury that could keep him out for a few days. It will be interesting to see the short term solution. |

They just said Drew's injury is a sprain. Still, I could see him missing some time with that injury, and that's exacerbated by the fact that it's
Drew. With Ellsbury also hurting, I wouldn't be surprised to see a move made. Both Van Every and Carter are on the 40-man. My guess is that it would be the
former given his defensive advantage, although neither would surprise me.
And although he's not on the 40-man, I wonder if Jeff Bailey would get a look. He has been tearing the cover off the ball for a few weeks now, and he's been the one playing right field in Pawtucket, although lately he has been switching between RF and 1B. There's three open 40-man spots, so purchasing his contract wouldn't be an issue. As mentioned in Van Every's bio on this site, he hasn't played RF much. EDIT: And of course, if it's just going to be a few days, maybe you go with Youk in right and Casey at 1B. That would be the obvious solution if he only needs a day or two.

ughhh....
Crisp out of the game; reason unkown. Youkilis to RF, Jacoby to center, Casey to first. If Crisp is dinged up then there has to be a move to make room for Van Every. He's the only one I see that is capable of playing all 3 outfield spots, even if his experience in RF is limited. Of course, there is always the chance that Drew comes back right away and Coco isn't hurt. |

Why is Coco out? Traded? Noone seems to know why yet.

I doubt it is a trade. That would be very strange timing....strangely bad timing even.

So does taking him out at that moment. I agree unlikely, but something to think about.

Bullshit call followed up by bullshit ejection. Ortiz was getting out of the way of the pitch. The bat was on his shoulder the entire time.

What a terrible loss to an even more terrible team. Manny's AB was extremely selfish, as he tried to swing for the fences on the 3-1 pitch instead of
taking ball 4. Lowell's AB was so bad that it doesn't even deserve much discussion (other than saying he took an absolutely meatball for strike 1 and
then swung at a pitch that bounced before it even reached home plate).
This team is starting to look GUTLESS.
Lugo is a walking poster child for late term abortions. I know he's in the 95th trimester or whatever but he should be the loophole to the law. mahalo
