there was a gagne chant in the mens room last night and in the middle of it one guy goes "no we don't" and everyone looked over at him... of course he was wearing a brewers jersey.

The only reason they caught Ellsbury was because it was a pitchout. It was also a PERFECT throw by Kendall, although it didn't really have to be, as they had him by a healthy distance.

Braun is an absolute monster. Prince Fielder has a future as a DH - he's kind of an adventure at first base. He dropped a throw from JJ Hardy that was right at his chest earlier in the game, and he just looked pretty shaky fielding a grounder a little bit ago.

After 25 successful steals to start his ML career, Ellsbury is finally caught in today's game, I see.

Given his penchant for getting caught in the minors, it's surprising he had such a run of success at the Major League level - unless he was maybe bored and/or trying things in the minors.

Still waiting for the streak-breaking error by Youk at 1B!!! And it's sort of like Beckett circa 2006 this afternoon.

Maybe they wanted the extra speed to be able to take a small-ball approach against Beckett? Also, the Brewers are righty-heavy and Gwynn gives them an extra lefty in the lineup.

Now here's where manufactured statistics sometimes break down into manufactured meaninglessness. Both Hansen and Torres were "credited" with blown saves. They didn't "blow" anything. Those should be team blown saves; attributing them to the pitcher is misleading at best.

I was at the game tonight in my Hanley shirt. The home run by Corey Hart was easily the most impressive homer I've ever seen. It went OVER the light tower in left and was still rising. An absolute moonshot. It probably didn't go all that far, but in terms of height it was one of a kind. There were some Red Sox fans applauding it, even.
