According to the ProJo, Lowrie's home run cleared the left field grandstand and landed in the McCoy Stadium parking lot. The McCoy grandstand isn't that big there, but that's an absolute bomb.

Bryce Cox is also quietly having a good year. I wonder if we'll see him promoted soon, considering he had already had success at the High A level before falling apart last year. He's 23, but I'm not sure age is a good number to use with his unique situation when determining what level he should be at.

Place led off the Lancaster game with a HR(3). He's starting to show signs of improvement in the past few weeks, a little more power and a lot less strikeouts. Additionally, his walks have been up and air outs have been on he rise. It really hasn't shown up much in the batting averages yet but this is an improved hitter.

I'm iimpressed that J.Lowrie reported immediately. Didn't get lost in traffic. Showed the big club what they are missing. Offense from the ss position. The reason they signed Lugo in the first place, and aren't getting it. Along with some bush league defense. Any swing lowrie makes in AAA...well you know the rest

I'll be interested to see what Lowrie does back in Pawtucket, after getting off to a slow start in AAA this season before being called up. I seem to recall a few years ago, when Youk was first called up after looking just OK in his first AAA stint, when he was subsequently sent back down he started playing as if he owned AAA. I'd hope that Lowrie would do the same.

Sandy Madera is an interesting guy. I just looked at his player card and he's never done anything good above A ball in his career yet he's crushing the high minors this year. He's 27 and there's really no spot for him in Boston right now but it'll be interesting to see what happens if keeps up that kind of production.
