<![CDATA[ Help me understand what the Sox are doing with Place. I may have missed a previous post that explained this. Why are they leading this kid off? He
hasn't hit at any level yet, but has managed to get promoted. How does leading off help him mentally or physically? He's a good athlete and has some
tools and I'd like to see him succeed, but where is the progress that warrants promotion?

with Jason and few other prospects number don't mean much in the scheme of things. I would agree with AB that I think his development during the off-season
will determine much more than the numbers he is putting up during the season.

As for Place....he needs to finally have a solid consistent year. I think he made strides this season in Lancaster. He cut down (a little) on K's, made

Salem next year. He's 20, there won't be an opening in the Boston OF until at least 2010, and you have Reddick, Kalish, Hall, Daeges, Corsaletti,
Bailey, Carter realistically ahead of him on the minor league depth chart. It's nice to advance a level every year, but let the dude establish some level
