Sorry, Cin. Just reminding posters that the effects, especially in Lancaster, have to be taken with a grain of salt. That said, Engel is hitting everywhere right now, and James had a decent outing at home. We'll be down there to see some JetHawks games and for convenience sake, it's going to be in San Jose and Visalia. But I also want to get an idea of what the team looks like in a few visiting parks that aren't in the higher & windier parts of the league. I'll admit that...

Note that the earned run in Hagadone's first game was changed to unearned. It hasn't been changed at First Inning but, it has been changed in the official boxscore. His ERA is now 0.00 and his unearned run streak continues. He hasn't allowed an earned run since last July.

Let's put any discussion of Cal League effects into a separate forum in the throwdown thread. Much of this has been discussed (some intelligently, some less so) over the last year. Personally, I think Lancaster is good for pitchers' development and and neutral for hitters' development (although great for their stats) because of the extreme diversity of parks.

I would suggest that you accept that the California league and Lancaster in particular is detrimental to the cause that 99.9% of the people on this board are interested in and just ignore the criticism because it's not going to stop. Another error for Diaz...

James gets through 5 to qualify. Sounded like he threw a good amount of strikes after the first inning, good sign that he can rebound after a rough start. That's a requisite for being a pitcher in Lancaster.

After making alot of strides in the HWL and in spring training, Argenis Diaz is off to a real slow start. He has 10 strikeouts so far with only 2 walks. Prior to tonights game he came in hitting .115/.172/.115 on the season.

Diaz makes his 3rd and 4th errors of the year in consecutive innings (major league defense, hah!).

James with a 1-2-3-4 inning (given the error). 11-4, mid 4th. After 3 innings, the only J-Hawk without a hit is Diaz, who is clearly the GOG so far.

Farkes Ks to lead off the 5th but reaches on a passed ball.
