The Article says he can play the corner positions in the infield, Short Stop and Outfield. he seems to heavy to play the short stop and if he plays out field he will probably have to play in a corner out field position. Can we get random teams best player for roster filler A, roster filler B, ridiculous contract A and bullpen arm we dont want A? Maybe a different combination if we add ridiculous contract B and bullpen arm we dont want B? But then they would have to add prospect of theirs ranked 10-15 A to even it out. Thoughts?

How about middling prospect A, middling prospect B, middling prospect C plus 0-3 million dollars for randoms teams best player?

It doesn't seem like Orlando Cabrera and Ozzie Guillen are too fond of each other, the article I've linked, even goes so far as to wonder if Cabrera will even last the entire season in Chicago.

This is not based on any report, concrete or even speculative, but the Mets need a shakeup badly right now. Would they consider trading Jose Reyes? He is a great talent that would feel less pressure on a star-oreinted team with great leadership like Boston, and would be a cornerstone two-way player for many years down the road.

Lugo, Lowrie, Moss or Coco, and a pitching prospect. Even if that pitcher turns out to be Bowden, is it worth it?

We don't have a lot of needs right now in Boston, other than maybe a 7th-8th inning reliever. That being said, we do have plenty of tradeable players in the system. As we approach the trade deadline, which players have the best trade value and are unlikely to fill a major role in Boston now or in the future? In other words, who could bring back the best talent without hurting our depth?

Rumor has it that the Rockies are looking at Josh Fogg and Julian Tavarez to fill the hole in their starting rotation. Assuming we pay most of his salary, what is our possible prospect return on a trade?

I would guess it is a 15-20 level prospect at best.

His ERA is currently 13.50 (2nd only to Snyder). Over 6 innings (In 9 games) he has allowed 14 hits, 9 of them runs. Jeff Clement (SEA) available?

Jeff Clement, who looked to be in line for the catcher position in SEA appears to be available with the resigning of Johjima by the Mariners. I think he would be a perfect replacement for Varitek when he is done, and he is not far from that. I would love to see a Coco plus mid level prospect traded for Clement.

Yu Darvish

This isn't really a trade but I think it would make sense for the Sox to sign Yu Darvish from the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. He is 21 years old and 6'4", with a 93+ MPH fastball, along with an excellent curve, changeup, and knuckle curve. He would be an excellent asset to the Sox starting pitching rotation and dramatically help the team. Also the sox have had success with Japanese players previously and I think this kid could be the best yet.

What about trading Coco Crisp and a few other prospects for Chris Carpenter who by the way is a local guy. The Cardinals have one of the worst outfields in baseball and need a Center Fielder after losing Jim Edmonds. Also Carpenter's value is low after coming off Tommy John Surgery. This trade would also fill the Sox pitching void.

Gordon Edes speculates that the Sox might be interested in trading for Rich Harden (personally I think he made this one up), and says that the cost would be high for Harden or Blanton. I agree that the price would be too high on Blanton, but wonder if we could acquire Harden for Coco and a top prospect. The question I have is Harden worth the gamble or is he destined to be another Wood/Prior? A healthy Harden is as good as any ace in baseball, what are the chances he can ever get and stay...

If the Orioles end up trading Brain Roberts to Chicago, could the Red Sox interest Baltimore in a trade built around Jed Lowrie for George Sherrill? Sherrill has always been murder on lefties, and he doesn't have nearly as much value in Baltimore for a rebuilding team as he would for a contender in Boston. Likewise, the Sox really need another top setup man and Lowrie is more of a luxury on the depth chart than a neccesity with Pedroia and Lugo entrenched in the big leagues. I also doubt...

One interesting name to keep an eye on is Milwaukee's Ben Sheets. The same NL official said the Brewers could seriously contemplate a Sheets deal.
