Now that Jed Hoyer has moved on to San Diego, it appears that the next person to jump from the organizational staff is Brad Mills, bench coach, who is reportedly the front-runner for the Houston Astros managerial position. If he leaves, we could potentially see Eric Wedge return as bench coach.

John Farrell is staying as pitching coach, having turned down an opportunity to interview for the Cleveland Indians managerial position.

According to multiple reports, San Diego is moving closer to naming Boston Assistant GM Jed Hoyer as the next General Manager of the Padres.

This potentially could have implications on trades between the two organizations, including a potential (but unlikely, in my view) Adrian Gonzalez trade.

So I've been hearing a lot about how the talent in the sox system is in AA and most of all A ball. While I don't disagree with this, I think the young players in Pawtucket deserve more credit. Obviously Tazawa, Bowden, and Reddick are the biggest, higher ceiling names, but there are some good players there. They lack a solid 2B/SS prospect in AAA right now and Jimenez probably won't be able to contribute at the major league level this year, in just his first year, but...
