We discussed this briefly before he started playing shortstop, but I now that we've seen him play and hit, do we have any better idea where he would rank on this website? Also, is there any (new since June) scouting info on him as a hitter?

This is NOT meant to be a discussion of which position Kelly should choose, and for the sake of argument, assume that if he chose hitter, the value of pitcher as a fall-back option is OFF the table.

Haven't done this in a while because there's not as much minor league ball being played, but there is still some and we have had some ranking changes in the past month.

Moving up:

Mark Wagner (c) - He ended the season ranked at 26 but has now moved up to 22. Mark's highest mark was in June 2008 at # 11.

I've really enjoyed reading the cups of coffee this Fall. I want to thank Jon Gray, and am wondering if there's any chance that game stories will be written next summer. I know it's a lot of work, and am in no way expecting it, but it gives a different feel to the games and players than you get from looking at a box score or play-by-play. Either way, keep up the good work, and thanks for everything.

I believe they are calling this the Amtrak Series.

For those of us in NJ who are not Hankees or Phillies fans, this is about as bad as it gets. Of course, it could be worse - you could be a Mets fan. At least I can root for the Phillies to repeat.

It is miserable in NYC today weather-wise, but the weather gods believe the rain will stop in time to play Game 1 tonight.
